St Joseph The Worker

Last Friday, we celebrated our school feastday. At 9.15 we all went to our parish church and celebrated Mass. This year we sang our school song which has been modernised by some of our Year 6 students, Mrs Bon and me, to include our school motto, values and history. We had also learnt a new song about St Joseph, by Michael Mangan, which we sang at Mass too. After morning tea we had great fun with tabloid sports which had been organised by the Year 6 students and Mrs Eichmann. The Year 5 students were also leaders because they had responsibility for all the teams. At lunch time everyone got together again for a shared lunch with plenty of delicious food.

Leaders' Day

Year 6 students spent a day concentrating on their role as leaders in our school. They identified what makes an effective leader; played some fun co-operative games; watched inspirational videos; listened to Mr Jacobs speaking about how we can take responsibility for our choices and actions; and enjoyed a yummy shared lunch.
